Buy (and Wear) What You Love

I know – this is something we image consultants are always saying – but it’s so very true. If you only buy the things you love, you will (obviously) only be wearing the things you love. Consequently, whenever you get dressed you will have a great sense of confidence, and when you have confidence, it radiates through all you say and do.

As an example, I recently attended a holiday dinner for our local chapter of the Association of Image Consultants International in San Francisco.  I decided to wear something that I purchased a number of years ago – a lace top with feathers on the cuffs.  It’s been a few years since I’ve worn this, but as I was making my decision about what to wear I realized that this was truly a good purchase for me, one that has stood the test of time: I loved it initially (and still do)…lace cycles through the trends and is currently one of the hot trends of the season…metallics are typically popular in evening wear, and particularly during the holidays (the lace in this top is a combination of beige and silver – see the photo below)…likewise, feathers tend to cycle through the trends and the touch of feathers at the cuffs is just enough to make a statement without being overwhelming.

This top is a lot of fun to wear, and I’ll keep it  in my closet until it no longer works for me/no longer fits/or molts!  In any event, it serves to remind me that I never regret purchases when I buy what I love.
